The great art critic John Berger said, “What makes photography a strange invention is that its primary raw materials are light and time.”

And so began my love affair with photography. As a photographer, I get my greatest joys when I can take an image that resembles a shot in a movie — using light to capture a story, and hopefully, the subtle ferocity and tenderness of life.
